HOLI FUSION FESTIVAL
An Explosion of Colour in Turin
By Lara Statham
The Holi Fusion Festival is coming to Turin! Don’t miss the city’s biggest colour festival this summer. The Holi Fusion Festival will take place in Turin at Parco Dora, 12th July at 12.00am.
Holi fusion, inspired by the core values of love, tolerance and equality that the traditional Indian festival promotes, has grown into an international festival that will be celebrated in Turin, Italy for the first time this July.
Traditionally celebrated in India the festival of Holi is a colourful, vibrant party in a collective celebration of national unity and rejoicing.
On the eve of Holi, pyres burn effigies of Holika, demoness from Hindu mythology, to symbolise the power of good over evil. The next day sees people singing, dancing, playing music and enjoying Holi speciality foods and drinks while spraying family and friends with brightly coloured powders.
Alessandro “Alex” Arione, organiser of Holi fusion in Turin, says: “This event is really for everybody! We have a main stage and dance area for young people and festival goers with a club-like atmosphere, and another area for families and children, so that everybody can enjoy this happy and colourful event!”
